Ordination Council Survey of Ordination Interviews conducted from 2019-2023

The purpose of this survey is to steward well our ordination pathway by gathering input from those who have been recently ordained as well as from you the ordaining council. Our hope and prayer is that responses from both of these groups will assist us in improving this section of our leader development and formation. Please answer as candidly as you are able. In the ECD presently we offer two tracks for preparation for Ordination. One is mainly focused on personal study, papers, sermons, book reports and an interview. The other substituted Deeper Life module training for some of the papers and sermons, but still required all the book reports and interview. Initially the Deeper IN modules substituted for 4 papers, then we adjusted it to substitute for 2 papers and 2 sermons.

In light of the interviews you have conducted, what areas of learning do you feel our ordinands would benefit from more training. You are free to check off as many of the choices as you'd like.

As a member of the ordaining council I felt well served by the ECD systems and personnel.

I found the marking rubrics for ordination assignments adequate and helpful.

The interview questions were clearly laid out so that we could accurately deduce the ordinands knowledge and ministry alignment.

At this point we are primarily doing interviews online. Previously we did interviews in person at the district office. Some have suggested they would prefer an alternative to an oral interview. Please indicate your preference.
