“Do not leave Jerusalem, but WAIT for the gift my Father promised …” (Acts 1:4)

Thank you for your interest. This initiative is now closed.

Find all the 40 days of prayer resources you’re looking for to participate in the ECD‘s 40 days of prayer leading to Pentecost from April 22nd to May 31st 2020 here.

The word God has been speaking to us these days is the need to WAIT for a fresh work of God in our midst.  The world has been thrown into chaos and the temptation is to work ourselves into a frenzy trying to fix things and control our circumstances.  Jesus knew this temptation would be true for his disciples after he ascended into heaven – they would want to go and save the world!  That’s why he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but WAIT …”  You need the Holy Spirit before you do anything!

Afterward, it says in Acts 1:14 that “they all joined together constantly in prayer.”  Ten days later the Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, and 3000 believed and were baptized!  The church was born!  I believe that Jesus is wanting our churches to be reborn in these days.  I believe he has new and fresh dreams for his bride to rise up like never before – to once again receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on us so that we can be his witnesses here in Canada and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).  But first we need to … WAIT.
